Dear Senator Padilla,
I live in the heart of California's agriculture country. I worship with many Spanish speaking families in my church. My children attend a school that is at least 90% Latino. I do not know how many families are undocumented. It's none of my business. But I'm sure some of them are.
What I do know is that church and school should be a safe place for them.
If it is not, they will stop participating in church services and bring part of their children's school community and education. This shells disaster for our communities. The effects of this policy change are far reaching and must be reversed.
Thank you for all your previous work on this issue.
Sincerely,
Amanda, CA
