Dear Klobuchar,
My family lives in Minnesota with our severely disabled daughter. Minnesota has been generous with funding for special needs, yet caring for her is still a big challenge. We are also devoutly Christian, and believe that we should try to treat all others will respect and care.
Donald Trump's sweeping orders starting a few days ago have caused us extreme concern. Firstly, some do not sound legal or Constitutional. Secondly, many seem based in retribution with no concern about the welfare of the people affected (ie pardoning ALL Jan 6 offenders, extreme immigration reform, and removing DEI and disability supports that help severely marginalized Americans).
I know we are not the only ones in Minnesota or throughout the States that are deeply concerned about the past days' orders as well as what is to come from this new presidency. We worry that the damage may be irreparable and that the voice of the American people (on both sides of the aisle) will not be heard.
Thank you for your support of compassionate and Constitutional legislation, as well as standing up for the American citizens who are scared and worried about what is happening in America's capital.
Sincerely,
Katherine, MN
