Dear Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO), Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO-07)

I'm a young moderate constituent of faith. I work in the tech and public service sectors and spend much of my time supporting my family and volunteering in my church. I am passionate about building and supporting my local community and caring for my neighbors and friends ( both those I know and those I don't).

Many of the executive orders passed by President Trump on January 20th feel like a mockery of the principles and ideals that I would hope are "American". I'm specifically concerned about the attempts to pull out of the WHO and the Paris Accord and the multitude of efforts to vilify, criminalize, and deport an entire segment of our population.

In a society that is already fracturing along gender and political lines, this move will only isolate us from other countries and cause further fear, hate, and division amongst in our neighborhoods and states.

We live in a world wide economy and political system that is bolstered as we encourage and support growth and development in other countries and unite and collaborate on important issues such as health and caring for our beautiful earth. We also live in a country that is largely dependent on a huge workforce of migrants and immigrants (both documented and undocumented) who in addition to supporting our food production, cleaning, construction, etc... also have families here and are our neighbors, family, and friends. Targeted deportations will do nothing to restrict white collar and wealthy criminals from buying their way through the system, but is already causing mass anxiety, fear, and sorrow among those who love and care for neighbors, family, and friends. I'm also concerned about potential racial profiling of my friends and family who are American citizens.

Thank you for your service and your willingness to step outside of party politics to stand for the ideals of service, collaboration, and charity that, in addition to being American ideals, should dictate how we treat ALL of God's children; regardless of race, religion, creed, or birthplace.

Sincerely,

Alexis, MO
