Artists and makers across the country were invited to express their hopes through painting, drawing, textile and fiber arts, and other visual forms of expression. Thirty submissions were selected for display at our Becoming America event in Washington, D.C., on September 30, 2026.

Pen Your Power gave people across the country the opportunity to write on beautifully-designed postcards focused on checks and balances, human dignity, due process, and free speech. Postcards came back to Women Building Peace from across the country, and our teams hand-delivered them to congressional offices.

We invited women nationwide to gather for quilt-ins of their own. Participants wrote their messages to Congress on squares of fabric. Each square was a constituent letter, and together they would be stitched into blankets of letters to Congress. In just six and a half weeks, 48 quilt-ins were held in 22 states. More than 5,000 women participated, with squares representing all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
