Women Building Peace recently launched Quilting for the Constitution: Peace by Piece, a nationwide initiative aimed at protecting constitutional checks and balances.

Women from across the country wrote their opinions on fabric squares that were sewn into over 60 quilts representing all 50 states. We gathered in D.C. to deliver these quilts to our congressional leaders. Through this creative act of advocacy, we are building a movement to preserve constitutional rights and uphold human dignity, peace by piece.

This is peace in action

— Eva Witesman
“When I make peace, I want to build it. From the ground up if I have to… I believe a peacemaker is the sort of person who runs toward conflict and builds peace with her words and her own two hands. ”
